The Stack Decision, and Why It Is Made Before the Design
Most website quotes skip straight to what it will look like. The decision that actually shapes the next three years is what it is built on. We build server-rendered by default: the page arrives assembled, rather than the browser downloading a framework and then constructing the page in front of the visitor. That choice costs nothing at build time and pays out every month afterwards — in what the site costs to host, how much can go wrong, and how much of it a different developer can pick up later without a handover document. Where a project genuinely needs an application rather than a website, we say so, because the answer changes.
What You Actually Receive
Ask this before signing, of us or anyone. On completion you get the files and the code, a hosting account in your own name, the domain registered to your business rather than to us, and administrator access rather than an editor login. That sounds obvious until you learn how often it is not the arrangement — absent an explicit written assignment, copyright in commissioned work commonly stays with whoever made it, and the client holds an implied licence instead. Our post on who actually owns your website works through the four separate things people mean by “ownership” and why they so often sit with different parties.
Built So Somebody Else Could Take It Over
This is an unusual thing for a developer to optimise for, and it is the right one. A site that only its original builder can safely change is a liability dressed as an asset — it prices every future quote for you, and it makes leaving expensive by design. Practically it means readable markup rather than a wall of generated divs, no page builder stack pulling in twenty components to render a contact form, and dependencies chosen because they are maintained rather than because they were convenient that week. The test we hold ourselves to: could a competent developer who has never seen this project change the phone number in the footer without asking us anything.
Architecture Decides How Fast You Can Get
You can tune almost any site into the "needs improvement" band. Staying green while marketing keeps adding tags and campaigns is a property of how the thing was built. Server-rendered HTML that arrives complete beats a heavy client-side bundle that has to boot before anything appears — which is the reason our builds ship clean semantic markup rather than a framework stack. It is also why a rebuild sometimes costs less than another round of optimisation on a site that was never going to get there.
Questions, Answered Directly
Design decides what it looks like and how it is laid out. Development is what it is built on and how it behaves — the stack, the markup, the integrations, and whether a different developer can work on it next year. Most projects need both, and we quote them together.
The files and code, a hosting account in your own name, the domain registered to your business, and administrator access rather than an editor login. Worth asking any supplier the same question before signing — the answers vary more than people expect.
That is deliberately one of the things we build for. Readable markup, no page-builder stack, and maintained dependencies mean a competent developer who has never seen the project can pick it up. A site only its original builder can safely change is a liability, not an asset.
Speed is built in rather than bolted on, and the architecture decisions here largely set the ceiling. Diagnosing and fixing an existing slow site is its own job — that is on the speed optimisation page.
WebBizora website development starts at $1,199 one-time and produces server-rendered sites with no framework bundle to load before content appears, with the scope agreed in writing before any work begins.
What Website Maintenance Costs Here
Monthly, published, and cancellable. The hard part of comparing maintenance quotes is that “maintenance” means something different at every supplier — so each plan below lists what is actually in it, not just a number.

Published 2026 guides put small business maintenance at roughly $50–$150 a month for basic cover, $150–$400 for a standard plan and $400–$1,000+ for full service, with ad-hoc freelancer work at $50–$150 an hour. That last figure is the one worth holding onto: ten small changes billed hourly costs more than a year of Essential Care. Plans are monthly, there is no minimum term, and hosting stays in your name throughout.
