Web Design & Development in Munich
WebBizora designs and develops websites for businesses in Munich, with the same AI-enhanced process used everywhere else — delivered fully remotely.
Munich now pulls more venture capital than Berlin, and its own chambers of commerce say the thing most likely to slow it down is language. WebBizora builds for Munich businesses fully remotely, from $149.

Munich Overtook Berlin on Funding
In 2025 startups in the Munich region raised €2.7 billion in venture capital against €2.4 billion across the Berlin metropolitan area — the first time Munich has come out ahead. It also leads Germany on new startup formation per head, at 19.3 per 100,000 inhabitants against Berlin’s 16.8 and Düsseldorf’s 15.4. Bavaria as a whole added 785 new startups in a year, up 46% where the national increase was 29%, and holds around 4,400 in total, more than any other federal state. Munich and its surroundings account for roughly 2,445 of them, with eight unicorns and two decacorns in the mix.
The Gap Its Own Chambers Point At
Here is the number that matters most for anything to do with a website. 42% of employees in Munich startups and scaleups come from abroad — exactly the same share as Berlin. But English is the primary working language in only 46% of Munich companies, against 67% in Berlin. The Bavarian chambers’ own Startup and Scaleup Monitor names internationality as the largest challenge to continued growth. So Munich has built an international workforce inside a German-language business culture, and the mismatch is now being described as a brake rather than a quirk.
Which Makes Language a Commercial Decision Here, Not a Legal One
Worth being precise about, because it differs from other markets. In Quebec or Catalonia the language of a website is partly a legal question. In Munich it is not — nothing obliges you to publish in English. What the data suggests is simpler and harder to argue with: if nearly half your potential staff, partners and increasingly your customers operate in English, a German-only site is deciding something about who can deal with you. That is a judgement call about your market rather than a compliance box, and it is worth making deliberately instead of by default.
A Broad Base, and an Expensive One
Munich is not a one-sector city. Employment hit a record 976,230 people in insured jobs, unemployment sat at 5.0% — the lowest of the major German cities, against 10.3% in Berlin and 8.3% in Hamburg — and trade tax receipts reached €3.63 billion, the highest ever recorded. Around 15,500 businesses registered in 2024 against about 12,500 deregistering. The other side of that strength is cost: Munich is among the more expensive German cities to start and run a business in, and founders in the national monitor single out bureaucracy as the sharpest obstacle. The Germany page covers the disclosure duties, including the ones the old §5 TMG templates still get wrong.

Questions, Answered Directly
Nothing requires it. But 42% of employees in Munich startups come from abroad while English is the primary working language in only 46% of local companies, and the Bavarian chambers describe that gap as the main brake on growth. Whether it applies to you depends on who you sell to and who you hire.
No — it is federal. What does trip people up is templates still citing §5 TMG, which no longer carries that name. The Germany page sets out the current position.
Often both. A large part of the region’s business activity sits outside the city boundary, and naming the districts you actually serve competes against a smaller field than a claim on München alone.
WebBizora packages start at $149 and run to $399 for builds including booking or payment integration, delivered remotely. If a second language is likely to matter, it is worth deciding before the build rather than adding it afterwards — retrofitting is consistently the more expensive route.
