Web Design & Development in Vienna
WebBizora designs and develops websites for businesses in Vienna, with the same AI-enhanced process used everywhere else — delivered fully remotely.
Six in ten Viennese businesses are one person, and Austria applies four separate disclosure laws to websites at once — which is why imported German templates get Vienna half wrong. WebBizora builds for Vienna businesses fully remotely, from $1,199.

Six in Ten Viennese Businesses Are One Person
The Wirtschaftskammer Wien puts 60% of Vienna’s businesses in the EPU category — Ein-Personen-Unternehmen, run without any employees. That is more than 72,700 of them, around a fifth of all EPU in Austria. They cluster in trades and crafts, information and consulting, and retail, with photographers, personal service providers and the film and music trades among the highest EPU shares of all. If you are selling to Viennese businesses, most of your buyers are the person who answers their own phone.
A Founding Record, and a Sobering Income Figure Beside It
Vienna registered 10,995 new businesses in 2025, up 9.2% on 2024 and the highest on record — roughly a quarter of all Austrian foundations, with information and consulting the fastest-growing sector at +17.1%. The average Viennese founder is 36.1 years old. Set against that, Statistik Austria put the median income of the self-employed at €13,201 a year after business expenses and social insurance contributions, on 2021 figures. Both things are true. A record number of people are starting, and the median one is not earning much — which is worth remembering before recommending anyone a large website budget.
Four Laws, Not One, and the German Template Misses Two
This is where Vienna businesses get caught. Austria applies several disclosure regimes to a website simultaneously: §5 ECG for commercial sites generally, §25 MedienG for anything with opinion-forming content, §14 UGB for companies in the Firmenbuch, and §63 GewO for trades. A template imported from Germany typically cites §5 TMG — a provision that no longer carries that name even in Germany — and omits the MedienG Offenlegung entirely. Two of the four, missing, on a page that looks complete. The Austria page sets out what each one actually requires.
What Changed, and What Quietly Did Not
The Barrierefreiheitsgesetz has applied since 28 June 2025, with fines reaching €80,000 and the Sozialministeriumservice enforcing it — though purely informational sites with no transactional function generally sit outside its scope. On the other side, the ODR link: the WKO advises removing it now that the platform has closed, but the arbitration obligation under §19 AStG survives independently, which is a distinction almost every "just delete it" article misses. Worth reading the detail rather than the headline.

Questions, Answered Directly
No, and it is the most common mistake here. Austria applies §5 ECG, §25 MedienG, §14 UGB and §63 GewO depending on your business, and a German template usually covers neither the MedienG disclosure nor the Austrian citations correctly.
The platform has closed, and the WKO advises removing the link. But the arbitration obligation under §19 AStG is a separate requirement that does not disappear with it — the Austria page explains the difference.
The BaFG has applied since June 2025 to consumer-facing digital services, with fines up to €80,000. A purely informational site with no transactional function generally falls outside it, though the boundary is genuinely debated rather than settled.
WebBizora packages start at $1,199 and run to $2,999 for builds including booking or payment integration, delivered remotely. Given how much of Vienna’s business base is one person on a modest income, we would rather quote a small honest scope than a large one.
